TUI cruises with Marella Cruises are due to resume service on October 1. The company is working hard to make sure holidaymakers will be safe and happy as the travel industry adapts amid the coronavirus pandemic. Marella Cruises have implemented a number of new measures to protect crew and passengers.
Now TUI has unveiled what travellers can expect on future cruises at every stage.
What to expect before a Marella Cruise
TUI explained there are more factors to take into consideration now when preparing to travel.
For instance, some countries are asking tourists to fill out a Passenger Locator Form.
You’ll also need to consider how many face masks to pack and be ready for a cash-free holiday.
Holidaymakers will be asked to check in for flights online and use self-service at the airport where possible – for instance at bag drop.
Travellers should be prepared to wear face masks and have their temperature checked.
TUI warned that some restaurants, bars and shops might be closed at the airport.
What’s more, it could take a little longer to go through security and to board the plane.
Safety is a high priority on TUI flights. All their aircraft are fitted with state-of-the-art ventilation and filtration systems to clean the air and flow fresh air through the cabin every few minutes.
They also explain they’re taking lots of measures to keep you safe, from deep-cleaning to keeping movement around the cabin to a minimum.
As for airport transfers to the cruise ships, reps will be there to greet you (at a safe distance) wherever possible.
Marella Cruises are also increasing the hygiene measures on our transfer buses.
They’ll be staggering the boarding of ships to ensure social distancing is possible, too.
What to expect on a Marella cruise
High hygiene standards are in place on all of TUI ships.
The holiday company explains you should expect some minor changes around the pool and in the restaurants and bars, as they’re adapting to new safety regulations.
When it comes to ports of call, TUI will be sure to furnish holidaymakers will all the information they’ll need about destinations.
If you’ve booked a Cruise & Stay holiday with us, things might be a little different at your hotel.
There’ll be measures in place to keep you safe, which may vary depending on local regulations.
