Since January 1, Emirates Post delivered nearly 2 million shipments to customers
Emirates Post has seen last-mile delivery volumes spike 45 percent in the first quarter of the year, the company announced on Tuesday.
Since January 1, Emirates Post delivered nearly 2 million shipments to customers on behalf of the government and banking organisations, as well as e-commerce retailers.
“We identified last-mile delivery as one of our key growth areas last year and have been bolstering our network to ensure that we have the reach and resources to cater to the demands of online retailers, as well as government and business entities,” said Abdulla Mohammed Al Ashram, acting group CEO of Emirates Post Group.
“This is the future of post and it is critical that our processes and systems have the agility to cater to local and international demand, whilst offering the best in pricing and efficiencies to our clients,” he added.
Over the last year, Emirates Post introduced simplified integration processes and cash-on-delivery, in addition to establishing a ‘hyperlocal network’.
According to the company, these steps have allowed it to deliver 99.8 percent of shipments on their delivery date promised, with on-time delivery exceeding 96 percent in the UAE.
Additionally, the company said that it made more than 800,000 contactless deliveries to customers since mid-March amid safety concerns related to the Covid-19 pandemic.
