Bus company says it has also implemented stringent sterilising measures on buses and ferries
The Mwasalat bus service between Oman and Dubai has been suspended as part of measures introduced aimed at reducing the spread of coronavirus.
The company has revealed that, following instructions from the Supreme Committee on Coronavirus Management, the route will now terminate at the Wilayat of Shinas, before returning to Muscat, “until further notice”.
Mwasalat has also introduced a number of actions to combat the spread of Covid-19, including sterilising all buses on a daily basis; sterilising and cleaning seats and grab handles; providing hand sanitiser on all buses; banning standing passengers to avoid overcrowding; and checking the temperature of passengers before they board the bus.
In terms of ferries, there will also be a stringent process of sanitisation and temperatures of passengers will also be checked. There has also been a complete ban on livestock transport.
A statement from the company said: “Mwasalat affirms that it continues to actively monitor coronavirus developments and will advise the public of any updates as they occur.”
