A first-time cruiser was stunned when she found what the "cute" pineapples on her fellow passengers' doors actually meant.
Dominique, a US-based travel blogger, shared a clip of the strange sight on social media and couldn't help but ask viewers what they were.
She posted in the video: "When you're on your first cruise and you see that everyone has that little cute pineapples on their door.

"How cute, I wonder what's the occasion."
Dominique walked past the doors and found a pineapple poster written "Welcome" on top, and another small upside down pineapple sticker on another one.
The tropical fruit symbol actually has a secret meaning other than just being a juicy fruit.
Some viewers pointed out that the upside-down pineapple is an "international hospitality symbol" while others claimed its real meaning is rather more explicit.
One said: "They're looking to have a good time with many friends, after all it is a cruise."
Another wrote: "Those people are swinging I learned that at young age from my first cruise."
"When I learned what pineapples meant, I was floored. So many people have SpongeBob themed rooms! My rooms are always boring. Do they pay extra?" a third joked.
The upside-down fruit is a secret sex code for couples who are up for sexual experimentation.
In other words, it's an open invitation for a swinger party.
Lifestyle magazine Men's Health has reported that use of the symbol within the partner-swapping community began in the 1990s.
However, the upside-down pineapple has now become accepted as a secret code that lets you "tell people you’re a swinger without telling them you’re a swinger", according to one TikToker.
And when Dominique found out the meaning of these "cute" stickers, she said: "Well, let me run past fast."
