A travel influencer went viral on social media after discovering her worst nightmare upon arriving at her dreamstay villa in the heart of Bali.
The holiday-goer had splashed months’ worth of savings on a trip to the idyllic Indonesian island but was met by an unpleasant surprise on her arrival.
The Australian native admitted that she was on the verge of tears after finding a construction site at the residence next door to her villa.
Airing her grievances from her public social media account @curvysam, she voiced her privacy concerns to followers as construction noises blared out in the background.
As she sat by the pool, she told her audience: “Honestly I feel like crying. Stuff has fallen into the pool from the construction site.”

@curvysam Honestly, this is my worst nightmare. It’s a beautiful remote location and it’s not the owners fault and it’s not the workers fault.Unfortunately this is just how things are in Bali. I looked on Google Maps, I read all of their reviews. The Villa Manager is so wonderful and so apologetic. I just really needed this mental reprieve, and to have some quiet. Plus I planned to film video contant, you all know I love chatting to the camera. These two nights have cost me more than my entire 9 days in Bali so far.Sigh.I will still get to shoot my new range for @Hildas ~ Size Inclusive Robes but its going to be loud with no relaxing or swimming in the pool. Especially with builders dropping so much stuff. Definitely not comfortable having an audience watching. #balivilla #baliaccomodation #baliconstruction ♬ original sound – CurvySam ~ Plus Size Fashion
Contrustion was starting as early as 7:30 am until 5 p.m., according to the influencer, causing her major incovenience as she tried filming content for her channel.
Pointing to the construction site in the background, she pointed out that there was nothing but a tarpaulin to prevent the workers peering into the garden of her villa, leaving the vacationer feeling exposed.
A caption beneath the post read: “Honestly, this is my worst nightmare. It’s a beautiful remote location nd it’s not the owners fault and it’s not even the worker’s fault.

She continued: “It’s going to be loud with no relaxing or swimming in the pool. Especially with builders dropping so much stuff. Definitely not comfortable having an audience watching.”
The complaint comes as a growing number of influencers are receiving backlash for painting a bad picture of the island.
Locals are becoming increasingly vocal about their disdain for bad tourists, who frequently put on displays of indecent social behaviour or work illegally.
Authorities have responded to the rowdy behaviour by implementing bans and issuing local guidance to visitors.
