A new West End-themed boozy brunch and dinner has hit the streets of London – boasting singing waiters and cocktails with a theatrical twist.
SingEasy is tucked away in a hidden room of Leicester Square's the Piano Works.
The entertainment filled immersive show can be experienced as a pre-theatre dinner or as a bottomless brunch at the weekends.
Some of the waiters have even been cast in massive productions like Mamma Mia and Wicked.
Being a frequent musical theatre goer myself, I went to try out the experience to see if it really lived up to the razzle-dazzle.
After finally locating the speakeasy type bar, I was seated down and given a ‘Sing Easy Spritz’ cocktail which was bang on theme for the night ahead.
In the low lit room, a pianist belted out a few Disney hits from the Little Mermaid’s Under the Sea to Gaston from Beauty and the Beast.
It made me feel like I had just time travelled back to my childhood.
As the night continued, an influx of waiters took the floor parading around while serving me and fellow musical theatre fans.
The speakeasy type room feels intimate in size, which really makes you feel like you stuck in the middle of a West End performance.
Microphone in one hand and a tray of cocktails balanced in the other.
The waiters served boozy beverages and grub whilst they belted out some classic bangers like Wicked’s Defying Gravity.
That’s what you call multitasking.
Arguably not as good as the waiters, I did attempt to sing along to classic hits of Grease and Les Miserables as did other punters.
The charismatic host really made the night with their musical-themed banter and assertiveness to get us up on our feet.
A highlight of the evening was the strange re-enactment of the Lion King.
The picked people out at random to role play different beasts from the animal kingdom in time with the classic hit Hakuna Matata.
We were also urged to request our favourite musical numbers for the waiters to serenade us with.
I took this opportunity to ask for the full Mamma Mia soundtrack.
While I wasn't successful in my request, I did manage to convince the waiters to sing an ABBA hit or two.
Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed the night as I got to live out my ‘best of’ musical theatre playlist in real life.
Whether you like a cheeky cocktail or two or wish to live out your West-end stage dream, SingEasy is a fun new London event for all.
Although not viewing the performance in the comfort of a grand theatre, having an involved part in the show really made the SingEasy a party that you cannot miss.
