Budget airline Ryanair has launched a bargain seat sale with flights beginning at just £5. The sale has been branded a “once in a lifetime opportunity” to bag cheap flights to some stunning destinations. Some of the destinations available include Greece, Germany, Spain, Italy, France and Hungary.
However, passengers should be aware that some of the destinations on offer to require Britons to quarantine for 14 days on their return.
Barcelona, Madrid, Palma de Majorca, Malaga, Paris and Marseille, among others, all require those returning to the UK to quarantine.
Destinations in Greece, Italy, Germany and Hungary do not require passengers to quarantine when they return to the UK.
Travellers should check the Foreign Office (FCO) website before they visit their destination as some countries have special entry requirements.
The £5 fares also only include hand luggage.
For those wishing to bring more than just a light travel bag, travellers must upgrade to a “regular fare” which allows passengers to have a 10kg cabin bag.
But be warned, this does come at a cost.
Upgrading to a regular fare costs around £22 extra each way.

Even if passengers upgrade, this amounts to a return flight to a popular holiday destination for less than £100.
The departure airports include London Stansted, Gatwick, Luton and Southend.
Regional airports include Leeds Bradford, Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Liverpool and Manchester.
The fares are also only available for trips in September and October, which is perfect for those looking to beat the summer rush and plan an autumn getaway.
The sale will end at midnight on Wednesday, September 2.
Ryanair’s Dara Brady said: “For 48 hours only we’re launching a mega price drop sale, across one million seats.
“Customers can book flights for as little as €5 across many of our 240 destinations, to top holiday destinations across Europe, North Africa and the Middle East.
“To avail of these special fares customers must be quick and visit the Ryanair.com website to book their flights before midnight, Wednesday, September 2, for travel in September and October”.
It comes as Ryanair cut its flight capacity just last month for September and October.
The airline made the move after demand for flights weakened following a surge in coronavirus cases across Europe.
The airline will be reducing its flight numbers by 20 percent over the next few months.
Many popular British holiday destinations are currently on the UK’s quarantine list.
This includes Spain (including the Balearic and Canary Islands), France, Malta, Croatia, Jamaica, UAW, Switzerland, Belgium, Czech Republic, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Singapore and the Netherlands.
The UK’s travel corridor list is being reviewed on a weekly basis.
