Originating in Germany, Christmas markets are now taking place all over the world. In the UK, most cities have a Christmas market, and some attract droves of Britons in search of mulled wine and last minute presents.
The most popular Christmas market in the UK was Edinburgh.
Edinburgh’s Hogmanay is on until January 4 and includes everything from stalls, rides and even an ice rink.
The Scottish is going Christmas mad with many events popping up everywhere, from a Christmas Tree Maze to Santa Land in West Princes Street Gardens.
On Tripadvisor, Sharon W said: “Really enjoyed this Christmas market. Even though it was busy it didn’t seem it.

Unfortunately, Bath’s Christmas market has been cancelled this year.
Manchester came third.
Manchester boasts one of the largest Christmas market in the UK with over 300 stalls.
The Winter Gardens in Piccadilly Gardens runs until January 3.
London came fourth.
The capital has 16 Christmas markets and offers something for everyone.
Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park is one of the most famous ones, but it’s not the only one.
Borough Market, Greenwich, Covent Garden, Southbank and Leicester are just five of the other locations Britons can visit to get in the Christmas spirit.
Rounding up the top five was York.
York’s Christmas Festival includes the St Nicholas Fair, Santa Spotting and York Minster Christmas Tree Festival, among other events.
On Tripadvisor, Nigel E said: “York Market is one to put on your calendar.
“There are so many places and stalls to eat off.
“One of the best Christmas markets I have been to.”
