TUI cuts package holiday prices with mega discount – but for this special reason

TUI is offering a huge discount on package holidays but it comes with a catch. The deal is offering a £150 discount on holidays departing from the UK tomorrow, August 5. Travellers looking for a spontaneous break abroad tomorrow can apply a voucher code to certain package holidays.

Some of the destinations on offer include destinations in Turkey and Greece.

One of the most impressive deals on offer is a week in Antalya in Turkey.

TUI is offering the deal with return flights and bed and breakfast for just £225 per person with the £150 discount.

However, the deal is only available for package deals.

Britons are being advised to check the UK’s Foreign Office website before travelling abroad to check the destination’s entry requirements, and whether they will be asked to quarantine for 14 days on their return.

It comes as TUI extended its holiday cancellations to Portugal up to August 16.

The company said in a statement due to the uncertainty surrounding non-essential travel to Portugal, they have extended their cancellations.

TUI said: “Due to the continued uncertainty and on-going advice against all non-essential travel to Spain and Portugal, TUI UK today announces more flexible options for their customers.

“TUI UK has extended holiday cancellations to Portugal up to and including August 16.”

TUI has also said they are rolling out flexible options for their customers who have holidays or flights booked for the coming weeks.

They added: “Customers due to travel to mainland Spain and Portugal between August 17 and 31, 2020, or to the Balearic Islands and Canary Islands between August 10 and 16, 2020 can amend their holiday and receive a booking incentive or can cancel and receive a full cash refund.

“TUI UK will continue to review its holiday programme in line with UK Government advice.”

Andrew Flintham, Managing Director of TUI UK and Ireland also said: “Our customer feedback is clear, they still want to travel abroad this summer, with over 70 percent of customers with cancelled holidays moving to another destination over the same period or in the coming weeks.

“On July 28 we added seven flights for this weekend to Greece and Turkey, and they’ve already nearly sold out.

“We’re therefore adding another seven new flights for next weekend to Crete, Rhodes, Zante and Corfu in Greece and Dalaman and Antalya in Turkey.

“We will also continue to use our 787 Dreamliners, traditionally used for long-haul routes, to help with the additional demand.”

Flintham continued: “The summer holiday period is the most important time of year for travel operators and we are therefore doing everything we can to help customers get their well-deserved holiday.

“The health and safety of our customers and colleagues is always our highest priority and welcome travel advice that protects those that holiday with us and we have worked hard to provide safe and enjoyable holidays this summer.

“Importantly, we also call upon the UK Government to work closely with the travel industry and remove the ‘blunt tool’ approach to quarantine and consider the rapid introduction of regional Travel Corridors.

“The level of uncertainty and confusion created this week is damaging for business and customer confidence in travel.”
