<\/p>\nBrits and tourists alike can enjoy a delicious meal on one of the UK\u2019s prettiest beaches this summer \u2013 for free. <\/p>\n
Great British Bake Off star Manon Lagr\u00e8ve is using her cooking and baking expertise to bring French food to Bournemouth.<\/p>\n
Her pop-up bistro will serve free, restaurant-quality British main meals inspired by Brits\u2019 most commonly wasted foods. <\/p>\n

The foodie is working with tasty cheese brand Boursin to create the charity restaurant.<\/p>\n
Not only are beachgoers invited to dine on delicious food, but it\u2019s all set up on an attractive terrace with beach views and a French cafe-style set up with plenty of shade, cushioned chairs, tables and flowers. Those wanting to dine out on a budget are sure to love it.<\/p>\n
The dishes are served on a pay-what-you-can basis where donations will be accepted, but are not required. <\/p>\n

All of the donations will go to FoodCycle, a nationwide charity that uses surplus food, spare kitchen spaces, and volunteers to create three-course meals for people at risk of food poverty and social isolation.<\/p>\n
Research by Boursin found that 43% of Brits admit to wasting food at least once a week during the summer months and 56% don\u2019t know what to do with leftover food or ingredients. <\/p>\n
One of the restaurants goals is to inspire Brits with dishes made from commonly wasted foods.<\/p>\n
Manon will use local Dorset produce \u2013 and of course plenty of Boursin cheese \u2013 to make a tasty meal for the whole family. <\/p>\n
From delicious creamy plant-based Boursin pasta, to Boursin & spinach stuffed chicken roulade, almond and Boursin grilled cod with frites and peas, or a vegetable Proven\u00e7al Boursin tian, there\u2019s something for everyone, as well as mouth-watering side dishes on offer too.<\/p>\n

The pop-up Boursin Bistro will sit on Bournemouth Beach from August 31 to September 3 between 12pm and 7pm. On Sundays this will be limited to 6pm.<\/p>\n
Bournemouth Beach is apparently the fourth best beach in the UK according to the 2023 TripAdvisor Travellers' Choice Awards. It\u2019s also the 24th best in all of Europe.<\/p>\n
It\u2019s a soft sand beach that\u2019s family friendly with RNLI Lifeguards based until September. So it\u2019s a great choice for a day out.<\/p>\n
You can use lifts to get to the top of the cliffs for a stunning view of the ocean or hike your way instead. Until October 31 there\u2019s also a Land Train down the Pier to Branksome Chine for a small fee.<\/p>\n
Amenities are plentiful with lots of parking, toilets and baby change on the prom and accessible toilets. Dogs are allowed all year to the west of Bournemouth Pier between Middle Chine and Durley Chine. For the rest of the beach, dogs are not allowed from 1 May to 30 September.<\/p>\n

To double check how busy the beach is at any one time take a look at the Beach Check app which has a traffic light system helping both visitors and residents avoid busy hotspots. The bistro will be located right on the sand, between Who Dares Gyms and El Murrino beach restaurant.<\/p>\n

The recipes I have created for the pop-up Bistro are inspired by being a French girl, but also super easy for everyone to re-create at home with leftovers you may have. Et voil\u00e0!".<\/p>\n
