Brits wanting to watch the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games can now book their Eurostar tickets – and if they do so quickly they’ll pay less than expected. While many flights and hotels see their prices skyrocket during busy event periods it seems you could pay as little as £49 each way to hop on the train from London St Pancras to Paris.
Ticket sales opened for the dates of the games yesterday, November 7, in an early release so UK residents can hop over the channel for the massive sports events. Customers can now race to purchase tickets to Paris for dates between 25 July to 9 September 2024 to support their Olympic and Paralympic teams.
Eurostar is actually the official travel partner for Team GB and ParalympicsGB, providing nearly 600 athletes their travel to Paris for the Games next year. So if you’re also on-board the high-speed rail service you may even spot some of your sporting heroes riding alongside you.

To assist with the games, and to keep the number of flights required down, Eurostar is adding an additional service between London and Paris on Fridays and Sundays each week to service the high demand during the Games and summer holiday season. This will mean there are 110 additional return trains allowing Eurostar to carry more than 88,000 customers per week to Paris and back.
The cost of a Eurostar ticket to Paris during the Olympic Games from the 26 July 2024 to 11 August 2024 and Paralympic Games from 28 August 2024 to 8 September 2024 will start from just £49 per person each way. When compared to similar trains during June next year is actually cheaper than many available with start from £56 each way. There is a catch though as only 1,440 seats will be available at £49 in both directions between London and Paris.
Those wanting a cheap ticket to other areas of Paris will find 1,000 seats available at £49 in both directions between London and Lille. However, as soon as these low-price train tickets sell out the price will climb so it’s important that if you plan to watch the Olympics in person you book as soon as possible to pay £98 for your return.
Alternatives include driving and catching the ferry before driving again – plus toll fees– or heading to the airport to catch a flight. Skyscanner currently puts London to Paris flights on the first weekend of August at £118 or higher.
Hotels are often priced higher during periods of high demand too – with hotels in Liverpool around Eurovision seeing booking costs rise to a whopping £5,000 at some venues – and right now it does seem as though you might need to book fast to get a good deal on a room for the Olympics.
We searched for a room for two adults during the first weekend (Friday to Sunday) of June – before the Olympics begins – and August – during the event – and found that the cost of the cheapest rooms rose significantly. Discarding some rather grotty apartments the cheapest hotel room we found in June for two nights was the Sully Hotel for £199 (or £99.50 per night).
Meanwhile, when searching on the hotel site for the first weekend in August the cheapest option was a one-bedroom villa for £276 over two nights – or £138 per night. The jump isn’t enormous at a £77 increase – and, of course, is also affected by the school summer holidays as well as better weather but it’s important to note that you may need to book well in advance to secure a good deal.
The cheapest actual hotel room we found during the first weekend of August was even more expensive – at a whopping £896 a night for a Junior Suite at Hotel Clement for two nights. While in June many hotels showed up priced under £500 for the weekend.
